Real Wedding: Johnson-McLamb

We’ve been waiting with bated breath to see the photos of this out-of-a-dream October wedding since the moment this sweet AYW couple said “I do.” We knew it early on in the journey of planning and designing this outdoor Fall soiree: Taylor and Chris’ celebration would be an evening to remember.

Guests were driven from the Lovers Lane United Methodist Church ceremony to Downton Dallas’ Nasher Sculpture Center. In the heart of the big city, this coveted sculpture garden venue was the perfect location for Taylor and Chris’ families to entertain their beloved guests. During the cocktail hour, a jazz band played whiled guests sipped on signature drinks- complete with customized stir sticks and beverage napkins adorned with the couple’s monogram, designed by Southern Fried Paper. Upon the happy couple’s entrance, the party found their escort cards tied with dainty twine to a stunning boxwood trellis wall display. Dinner tables were decked with bright, bold linen and statement centerpieces full of unexpected texture and pastel blooms thanks to Bella Acento and Bella Flora. The bridal party took their seats at a jaw-droppingly gorgeous farmstead-style head table; topped with a floral garland runner and lovely blue china. The guests of honor, Taylor and Chris, found their chairs draped in free-form greenery with “Mr.” and “Mrs.” chair back signage. Swanky lounge furniture surrounded an all-white dance floor, and everyone danced under sparkly string lights to an epic performance by band, Signed, Sealed, Delivered. The cake, created by Panini Bakery, was (almost) too pretty to eat. At the end of a fabulous evening spent under the stars, custom favor boxes of Godiva chocolate were picked up by each guest after they said farewell to the newlyweds with waving ribbon wands.

Needless to say, these images (captured beautifully by Jennifer Yarbro) have us all kinds of “heart eyes,” and we’re pretty sure they’ll have you gushing, too. Take a look at this sneak peek preview and check back on our Facebook page later this week for a complete album of all the prettiness!

Real Wedding: Pantuso-Schaible Reception

Last week, we shared images of our sweet As You Wish bride, Ashley’s, rooftop ceremony at The Wyly Theatre. After the ceremony, guests rode elevators down to an awe-inducing reception space. Bright, pink Bella Flora blooms brought bold color to each table top; trendy lounge furniture complemented cross back dining chairs; and an out-of-this-world head table lighting installation of Edison bulbs and geometric vases boasted modern sophistication. To continue with the incorporation of flight-themed details, airport codes took the place of table numbers (home base, DFW, identified the head table) and each guest’s menu card was displayed in a sleek, black luggage tag. The sunken, lit dance floor- and Andy Austin’s top-notch DJ’ing- ushered guests into an evening of dancing and good fun. We hope you enjoy the details from this celebration as much as we have! A big thanks to Carter Rose of f8 Studio for capturing all this gorgeous- check our Facebook page for the full photo album from this epic event!

Real Wedding: Spring Hindu-Catholic Wedding

Last week, we shared the first round of photos from one of our all-time favorite wedding weekends to date, kicked off by a fabulous Sangeet party. The multicultural + multiple-day long celebration that took place last Spring, beautifully designed and planned by As You Wish lead planner, Rachel Burt, was memorable in more ways than one.  Unforgettable moments include: a Lamborghini driven INTO the Fairmont hotel by the Groom; the Bride and Groom’s first dance complete with a fireworks display; and the crowd of guests viewing a same-day edit film (created by none other than Hakim Sons Films) of the festivities at the conclusion of the reception. An expert team of vendors brought their A-game to pull off a soiree that was jaw-droppingly gorgeous in terms of design, meticulously executed, and… so. fun.

We’re endlessly thankful to: Bella Flora for bringing our design vision to life with whimsical, elegant, and garden-esque florals that transformed The Fairmont ballroom into a thing of ethereal beauty; Southern Fried Paper and Nicole Black calligraphy for stunning paper products and hand lettering; the JenXFaces team for enhancing the beauty of an already-gorgeous Bride and her bridal party; Jordan Kahn Band and DJ Riz for top-notch entertainment throughout the entirety of the weekend; Pyrotecnico for wow-worthy fireworks displays; Fancy Cakes by Lauren for her handcrafted and beautiful cakes; Hakim Sons Films for their cinematography magic; and finally, Edmonson Weddings for capturing these moments on camera so beautifully! Enjoy this sneak preview of stunning images and stay tuned for the full photo album to go live on our Facebook page later this week!

AYW Exclusive: B.O.N.T. Going Glam Styled Shoot

The As You Wish team has been on the edge of our desk chairs, anxious to share the gasp-worthy photos from one of our favorite design schemes to date. This styled shoot, dreamt up by AYW lead planner, Rachel Burt, combines mix mirrored elements and shimmery gold decor to create a look that screams luxury. We cannot (and probably won’t, ever) get over these glitzy details- a confetti bar, an opulent table scape, mini champagne bottles…a recipe for one grandeur celebration.

We’re extra thankful to each individual that made up this dream team of vendors: The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth for the use of their perfectly refined space; R Love Floral Designs for her floral magic; Posh Couture Rentals for the stunning china, flatware, stemware and napkins; Delicious Cakes for the trio of metallic cakes; Bella Accento for the mirrored tables and chiavari chairs; The Tarnos for capturing these FANTASTIC photos; Stardust Celebrations for the elegant, on-trend Lazaro bridal gown, Hayley Page bolero, and Toni Federici veil; Lip Service Makeup and Stephanie Nelson Makeup & Hair; and finally, Design Roots, for the effortlessly pretty stationary and calligraphy.

Be sure to grab a copy of the Fall/Winter 2015 issue of Brides of North Texas to see these beauties in print!

Real Wedding: McCoy – Doolittle

We have been so eager to show off this jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, right-out-of-a-dream wedding. Our As You Wish bride, Rose, and her fabulous mother, Dr. Rosemary McCoy, came to us with big dreams of throwing a once-in-a-lifetime, fun party that would blow their guests away… and send them running to the dance floor. The design scheme showcased the Pantone color of the year for 2014, radiant orchid, in all of it’s glory. Stunning floral centerpieces dripping in crystals, a custom silver dance floor, and bright, bold, sparkly table linens of varying textures- all courtesy of Jackson Durham, decked this Dallas Country Club reception in glamour.

Rose and her groom, John, were both studying to become Doctors during the planning process. Thus, having their guests transcribe a “Prescription for a Happy Marriage” on customized Rx pads in place of a traditional guest book was a precious, personal touch.

We loved this unique floor plan utilizing full-of-flair lounge furniture and chic ghost chairs for a swanky alternative to ordinary reception seating.

Talk about a party! This take on the Groom’s dessert of choice was above and beyond. A one-of-a-kind whiskey bar featuring local whiskey and the Groom’s personal favorites, complete with suggested gourmet chocolate pairings, was a huge hit!

Guests said farewell to the Bride and Groom and they made off in an adorable, vintage getaway car. It was truly an unforgettable affair! Be sure to pay a visit to our Facebook page later this week to view all of the photos of this spectacular wedding by Edmonson Photography.

Real Wedding: Jones – Holmes

This week’s featured “Real Wedding” was a favorite this past December & we can’t wait to share these fabulous images The Three captured from the event!

Danielle and Dave’s modern wedding was perfect for a brisk, winter event.   The bride & groom wanted their special day to reflect all the current trends while staying true to the season.  This color scheme was as cool as ice with rich navy hues & subtle hints of silver & white tucked away in every detail.  This beautiful wedding was held at Cityplace Events and the atmosphere did not disappoint.

The details throughout the event were over the top fabulous & coordinated perfectly with the bride’s color choice!  The tables were styled to perfection, creating an that sparkled.  The groom is responsible for the romantic lighting that set the ambiance for the whole evening.  This bride loves crafting & had a hand in designing every detail we executed for her!  The invitations, escort cards, programs, & coasters all decked out in silver glitter & navy blue.   The menu was a fun touch & set the tone for the party!  It really was the best day ever!

The bride’s cake was a trendsetter with the modern chevron detailing.  Danielle & Dave wanted to keep it simple with the cake & finish dessert off with milk & cookies.  The couple also had quite the candy bar for guests to grab on their way out the door; equipped with the most delicious chocolate cake balls, I might add!  The adorable details didn’t stop there, the couple had the cutest personalized labels made for their guests to remember the night.

We had so much fun planning this wedding & the look on the Bride & Groom’s faces at the end of the night, said it all!  This event was a party to remember!  The guests danced & celebrated the couple with confetti – And this couple danced until they dropped!

We’ll be sharing even more pictures from this event on our Facebook page later this week so be sure to check back!

2013: Our Year in Highlights!

Before we get too far into the New Year, we wanted to take a moment to point out a few great moments from our 2013 wedding season! Because we have the privilege of working with the best clients in the world, we couldn’t possibly cover EVERYTHING, but here are a few things that made us smile this year!

Best Mix-and-Match Bridesmaid Attire

Mixing up your bridesmaids’ attire is super trendy at the moment and this bride knew just the right combination to achieve the fun and fresh vibe she was going for. We love that the dresses are suited to each girl individually but that they also came together just perfectly!

Craziest Groomsmen Attire

We thought we had seen it all until this groom and his groomsmen pulled out horse heads during their photo session! Apparently part of an inside joke, these guys had fun taking pictures and then tucked away the props until later that night when they surprised all the guests on the dance floor!

Most Perfectly Coordinated Custom Paper Products

This couple had Southern Fried Paper create the most gorgeous paper products: from their Dallas skyline Save-the-Dates, to their invitation suite, to the adorable table numbers with custom pictures from their travels, each piece was absolute perfection! The Double Happiness symbol that they used is a typical Chinese wedding symbol–keep an eye out for a Real Wedding post about this couple coming soon that explains the sentiment behind it!

(Geoff Duncan Photography)

Most Stunning Chuppah

Chuppah’s come in all different sizes and styles and add an extra element of beauty and elegance to the ceremony decor. This Winter Wonderland wedding required something extra special and so the team at Fauxcades custom created the LARGEST chuppah we have ever seen–and Garden Gate added all of that incredible floral detail!

(Kym Skiles with f8studio)

Most Unique Wedding Cake

We’ve seen plenty of amazing wedding cakes, but this one definitely “takes the cake” as the most interesting! This bride was inspired by a stunning architectural piece on the corner of a building and Fancy Cakes by Lauren was able to recreate it on this cake in the wedding’s black and gold art deco color scheme!

And speaking of cakes…

Most Adorable Cake Cutting Pictures

A beautiful home wedding, a couple madly in love, a gorgeous backdrop… How can you not melt when checking out this photo series?!

Most Picture-Perfect Sweetheart Table

Branching Out did an amazing job with all of the decor for this spring wedding, but we can’t help but swoon every time we see this simple and sweet little table set-up that they put together!

Most Awe-Inspiring Head Table

Head tables are meant to steal the show and this one was no exception! Check out how Bella Flora made this table the most eye-catching centerpiece of the entire reception!

Place Setting Most Likely to Make You Smile

The combination of pink, orange, blue and white was perfection at this wedding and we just can’t help but grin when taking in the bright and fresh place settings that mixed together the color palette just right!

Best Use of Event Space

When your guest count starts adding up, you have to consider the best way to fit all those people in comfortably and this couple did just that! The Frontiers of Flight Museum was the perfect place to host their large guest count and we worked hard to come up with a floor plan that made everyone feel at home–all 900 of them!

We are so thankful for such an incredible year and are looking forward to 2014 and all the exciting events to come!

Real Wedding: Piper – Saylor Wedding

Katie and Adam were looking for the perfect “burlap and blue” design to complement their outdoor wedding at the Dallas Arboretum and our team was able to pull together this fabulous inspiration page that the couple was so excited about!

… however, when Katie’s bridesmaids came across a fun coral-colored bridesmaid dress that they knew they had to have, she came back to us and asked if there was any way we could incorporate the new color into the design she already loved. Part of being a wedding planner is the ability to adjust and make changes as needed and so we were ready and willing to accommodate our sweet bride with a design we all fell in love with just a little bit more!

Here are the pictures that Kristal with Creative Shotz captured from their day so you can see how it all came together!

Adam and his friends had a little inside joke involving these crazy horse heads and lots of laughs… Keep an eye out in the reception pictures for their second surprising appearance!

This stunning garden path was the perfect location for Katie and Adam’s romantic “First Look!”

And on to the ceremony…

We LOVE a unique guest book idea and these thumbprint balloons on a customized print were so fun!

The team at Branching Out not only provided all of the fabulous floral for the day, but they also created this incredible one-of-a-kind altar piece with woven branches and floral for the ceremony!

And now for some fun reception details…

… like this adorable chalkboard seating chart…

… the mix of beautiful centerpieces…

… and a stunning, 5-tier cake from Dallas Affaires Cake Co.!

Brian with Simply Music provided the awesome music and lighting for the evening and this group definitely brought the party!

Those hilarious horse heads even made an appearance out on the dance floor!

Even more pictures from Katie and Adam’s big day will be up on our Facebook page soon so be sure to check it out!

Real Wedding: Bailey – Heidel Wedding

Angela came to As you wish… looking for help to bring her spring wedding to life and we knew just the right color combo to make that happen! Our team worked hard to create this fun and fresh inspiration page and then brought it to life for her wedding day with the help of some great vendors!

Mark and Angela had both their ceremony and reception at Marie Gabrielle and used the stunning outdoor space to complement their fresh coral and green color palette.

Brooks Whittington of Brooks Weddings was on site all day to capture each and every moment–take a look below to see some of our favorite shots from the day!

The ceremony decor was soft and romantic and encompassed the vision for the wedding perfectly.

Check out these beautiful altar arrangements from The Garden Gate!

We just HAD to include this close-up shot of Angela’s gorgeous brooch bouquet–the color and details matched the decor perfectly!

With cocktail hour in full swing, guests were treated to the signature drink of the evening: a mouth-watering Strawberry Vanilla Mojito with adorable striped green straws!

The dinner tables inside were set with beautiful centerpieces incorporating a pop of coral and green napkins to tie in the colors from outside.

The couple shared their first dance under cafe lights strung above the dance floor and then led their guests inside for dinner, cake-cutting and toasts.

Romano’s Bakery created both a fabulous bride’s cake and fun groom’s cake for Mark and Angela.

…and then it was back outside for more dancing and partying the night away under the stars!

The newlyweds left with a bang–their exit was complete with a band escort, sparklers, and a vintage car!

Real Wedding: Sokolsky – Yochananov Wedding

We had the privilege to work with Julie and Aharon earlier this year to plan their wonderful Winter Wonderland wedding and we’re so excited to share all of the incredible details with you!

The ceremony and reception both took place at the Four Seasons Hotel and Resort and Kym Skiles with f8studio was there every step of the way to capture the day perfectly.

Julie and Aharon opted to do a first look before their ceremony which gave them ample time to take plenty of gorgeous pictures!

And then it was on to the ceremony… with a stunning white aisle runner, exquisite snow-like details, and a custom chuppah unlike anything you’ve ever seen before!

As guests entered cocktail hour, they were greeted by a custom escort card tree composed of many incredible elements–the gorgeous ice sculpted vase, fabulous floral and branches, dripping crystals, and one-of-kind laser-cut snowflakes with each guest’s name and table number written out!

Upon entering the ballroom, guests were dazzled even further with all of the “icy” details… Let’s let the pictures speak for themselves!

After being introduced as the newest Mr. and Mrs., Julie and Aharon took a spin on the all-white dance floor and the whole room watched in awe as indoor fireworks went off during their finale dip!

Oh, and have we mentioned the cake?! Fancy Cakes by Lauren put together this elaborate and ornate masterpiece that took center stage under the ceremony chuppah until it was time to be cut.

The night continued in full swing with plenty of dancing, tiny treats for a late-night snack, customized snowglobe favors for each guest, and confetti “snow” to send the newlyweds off in style!

We love this wedding so much that we pulled out a few close-up details that were simply to die for–check them out below!

Julie and Aharon wanted one-of-a-kind welcome “baskets” to greet each guest as they checked into their hotel, so we partnered with Southern Fried Paper to customize these cuties! Don’t they just get you in the Winter Wonderland spirit!?

Southern Fried Paper also put together some incredible paper products–check out the dainty, letterpress snowflake detail!

Just in case you couldn’t tell how beautiful the chuppah was from the pictures above, here are a few more shots…

Remember that escort card tree that took your breath away? Here is a closeup look to WOW you even more!

We are in love with this floral halo that The Garden Gate created as a whimsical centerpiece above the dance floor!

Not only did Dallas Ice FX sculpt the ice vase for that escort card tree, they also crafted this vodka ice luge for guests to enjoy throughout the evening!

These sweet little snowglobes graced the center of each table to serve as table numbers!

This cake was so beautiful, we just had to include a few close-ups…

These tiny little desserts were the perfect end to the night and we couldn’t pass up one last look!

We had such a blast working with this amazing family and our all-star team of vendors to pull off a Winter Wonderland to remember!

Click HERE to see our blog post about the “Same Day Edit” video that Hakim Sons put together for this wedding and be checking our Facebook page to see the rest of the pictures from this wedding coming this week!
