Real Wedding: Khaznadar – Perez

Rana and groom, Michael, sat down in our As You Wish office with a dreamy muse in mind for their wedding day design: the Miami sunset. Think soft shades of lavender, peach, and coral dusted with rose gold.. a unique color combination that exudes all the feels of a luxurious, beachfront Summer getaway. The elegance of their Crescent Hotel venue, and the addition of fun, cultural elements in design and entertainment that paid homage to both sides of the family’s rich heritage, made this couple’s wedding celebration a joy for us to plan and for guests to attend. (Seriously… look up “Arabic Zaffa Dance” on YouTube. So. Fun.) Thanks to f8studio for these gorgeous images!

Rana and Michael’s full photo album will go live on our Facebook page later this week, stay tuned!

AYW Exclusive: B.O.N.T. Modern-Tropics Styled Shoot

This sunshine-y (and sweltering) Dallas day has the As You Wish design team reminiscing on one of our all-time favorite styled shoots to date: a Modern-Tropics themed feature in the Spring/Summer 2015 issue of Brides of North Texas. The team of creatives that helped make this chic, rainforest-esque design scheme (dreamt up by our lead planner, Rachel Burt) come to life, was top-notch. Grab yourself something sweet to sip on- little umbrellas are optional, but highly recommended- and peruse some serious prettiness.

Big thanks to-

Real Wedding: McCoy – Doolittle

We have been so eager to show off this jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, right-out-of-a-dream wedding. Our As You Wish bride, Rose, and her fabulous mother, Dr. Rosemary McCoy, came to us with big dreams of throwing a once-in-a-lifetime, fun party that would blow their guests away… and send them running to the dance floor. The design scheme showcased the Pantone color of the year for 2014, radiant orchid, in all of it’s glory. Stunning floral centerpieces dripping in crystals, a custom silver dance floor, and bright, bold, sparkly table linens of varying textures- all courtesy of Jackson Durham, decked this Dallas Country Club reception in glamour.

Rose and her groom, John, were both studying to become Doctors during the planning process. Thus, having their guests transcribe a “Prescription for a Happy Marriage” on customized Rx pads in place of a traditional guest book was a precious, personal touch.

We loved this unique floor plan utilizing full-of-flair lounge furniture and chic ghost chairs for a swanky alternative to ordinary reception seating.

Talk about a party! This take on the Groom’s dessert of choice was above and beyond. A one-of-a-kind whiskey bar featuring local whiskey and the Groom’s personal favorites, complete with suggested gourmet chocolate pairings, was a huge hit!

Guests said farewell to the Bride and Groom and they made off in an adorable, vintage getaway car. It was truly an unforgettable affair! Be sure to pay a visit to our Facebook page later this week to view all of the photos of this spectacular wedding by Edmonson Photography.

Color Crush: Ocean Blues

This week’s color crush has us dreaming of little umbrellas in our cocktails and white sand between our toes!  To create for ourselves a (virtual) break from this sweltering Texas heat, we’ve put together a little summer wedding inspiration… our muse: the Great Blue Sea.

In the same way that we can’t turn down a view that involves strikingly clear waters, we’re head over heels for the aqua and turquoise tones that compose an ocean blue wedding design scheme. A serene mix of blue in your ceremony and reception décor gives your guests the notion that they’ve come for a romantic weekend escape.

Be as bold as you’d like with bright blue jewel tones like cobalt and cerulean, or keep it breezy with soft, muted azure shades. There are various ways, significant and subtle, to incorporate ocean blues into your color palette. The possibilities are as limitless as the sea itself!

We’ve put together a paradise-inspired design page, so grab a little umbrella for your drink and take a look!

Color Crush: All White Everything

Our planners have found that wedding design inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere. Fashion and lifestyle trends are no exception! We love to take note of current clothing and accessory crazes as we’re designing each bride’s dream wedding.

Our latest obsession: the crisp and clean vibe of a fresh, white color palette. There’s something totally bold and fabulous about the white on white ensembles seen as fashion staples this summer. We love the idea of translating this look to all-white wedding details. The simplicity of a white color palette can create a heavenly backdrop for your celebration. Don’t be afraid of the understated beauty that comes with this non-color design scheme – it just might constitute the most eye-catching wedding décor of all!

We’ve put together fabulous inspiration pages filled with all things white and ethereal. Take a look and be inspired!

Pin-Worthy Pretties: Wedding Shoes

There’s nothing like a little shoe envy to keep you inspired for your upcoming big day! We’ve gathered a few of our favorite shoe pictures from recent As you wish… brides that are sure to give you the shopping fever!

We’ve noticed that while some brides like to incorporate a bright pop of color on their feet, the vast majority tend to lean toward a more neutral color palette under their wedding dress. A great way to still stand out while keeping things calm is to pick a shoe with a metallic hue and a little sparkle or shine!  Take a look at some seriously fabulous examples below and be sure to “Pin” your favorites!

The right amount of shine and sparkle takes these basic shoe styles to the next level:

If you’re looking to kick it up a notch, consider a metallic shoe with a fun embellishment:

And if strappy sandals are more your style, the same rules apply here as well!

Happy Pinning!

Pantone Color of the Year 2014: Radiant Orchid

If you’ve been keeping up with current wedding news, you may have already heard the buzz about 2014′s Pantone Color of the Year… but just in case you haven’t, we wanted to take the opportunity to fill you in!

Say hello to the fabulous “Radiant Orchid”–the color that is sure to be popping up everywhere this year!

Here at As you wish… we are inspired by tons of incredible color palettes and aim to incorporate fresh ideas and new colors in each design we create while keeping the focus on what’s most important to our brides! In looking back through our 2013 wedding season, it’s clear to see that we’re ahead of the game already as we’ve been creating gorgeous “Radiant Orchid” weddings all year long–check out highlights from a few of our weddings below!

Just in case that isn’t enough to get you excited about the possibilities, we pulled together a few more inspirational images to keep things fresh and fabulous for 2014!

You don’t have to deck out your entire wedding in purple to get the point across–try focusing on crisp neutrals like whites, grays, and silvers and then let the flowers do the talking:

We can’t wait to put our ideas into some fresh wedding designs for this year and are looking forward to a “radiant” 2014!

Real Wedding: Piper – Saylor Wedding

Katie and Adam were looking for the perfect “burlap and blue” design to complement their outdoor wedding at the Dallas Arboretum and our team was able to pull together this fabulous inspiration page that the couple was so excited about!

… however, when Katie’s bridesmaids came across a fun coral-colored bridesmaid dress that they knew they had to have, she came back to us and asked if there was any way we could incorporate the new color into the design she already loved. Part of being a wedding planner is the ability to adjust and make changes as needed and so we were ready and willing to accommodate our sweet bride with a design we all fell in love with just a little bit more!

Here are the pictures that Kristal with Creative Shotz captured from their day so you can see how it all came together!

Adam and his friends had a little inside joke involving these crazy horse heads and lots of laughs… Keep an eye out in the reception pictures for their second surprising appearance!

This stunning garden path was the perfect location for Katie and Adam’s romantic “First Look!”

And on to the ceremony…

We LOVE a unique guest book idea and these thumbprint balloons on a customized print were so fun!

The team at Branching Out not only provided all of the fabulous floral for the day, but they also created this incredible one-of-a-kind altar piece with woven branches and floral for the ceremony!

And now for some fun reception details…

… like this adorable chalkboard seating chart…

… the mix of beautiful centerpieces…

… and a stunning, 5-tier cake from Dallas Affaires Cake Co.!

Brian with Simply Music provided the awesome music and lighting for the evening and this group definitely brought the party!

Those hilarious horse heads even made an appearance out on the dance floor!

Even more pictures from Katie and Adam’s big day will be up on our Facebook page soon so be sure to check it out!

Pin-Worthy Pretties: Fall Bridal Bouquets

Here at As you wish…, we love perusing Pinterest for all kinds of fabulous wedding inspiration and we know our brides do too! To continue to keep you inspired and your Pinterest boards fresh, we wanted to use this first installment of “Pin-Worthy Pretties” to share some of our favorite bridal bouquets in rich, fall colors.

While we always love a simple bridal bouquet in white, there is definitely something to be said for an exciting pop of color against a traditional white bridal gown!

Take a look at what some of our As you wish… brides have carried down the aisle!

Happy Pinning… and be on the lookout for more “Pin-Worthy Pretties” coming your way soon!

Autumn Inspiration

Now that we are into October (and finally experiencing some cooler temperatures!), its getting easier to justify those Pumpkin Spice lattes and fabulous boots we’ve all been dying to pull out of our closets! Here at As you wish…, we love all of the deep, rich colors that this season has to offer and wait all year for just the right time to use them!

To keep YOU excited about everything cool and crisp, we put together this Inspiration Board based on an antique orange, peach, and muted red color palette, and peppered it with pops of deep fig. While we can appreciate the traditional reds and oranges of the changing leaves, we wanted to create something a little less expected and a little more elegant!

Whether you’re envisioning your own fall-inspired wedding, or just love this time of year, this combination is sure to make you feel warm and cozy!

Once you have the perfect overall vision for your day, it’s time to think about adding in some fun elements that offer a high level of sophistication, all while keeping in line with the fall-time feeling you’re aiming for!

For your escort card display, consider using branches and leaves spray-painted entirely gold for an added glam factor.

To sweeten up your cocktail hour, request mini candied apples as one of your passed hors d’oeuvres–your guests will be “ooing” and “ahhing” over how adorable these little bite-sized beauties are!

And finally, end the evening with one final homage to the season by handing out tiny pie favors–think pumpkin, apple, and even pecan pies all wrapped up in sweet little boxes.

Happy Fall!
