Trending: Pantone Color of the Year 2016

For the first time ever, Pantone has released TWO colors of the year for 2016! Lead designer, Rachel Burt, created a cinderella-esque wedding design inspiration page- showcasing “Rose Quartz” and “Serenity.” We can’t wait to see how these colors are translated throughout the wedding industry in the upcoming months!

As You Wish Exclusive: Giving Thanks

In the spirit of the fast-approaching holiday season, we’ve been reflecting on our recent months… packed full of beautifully unique weddings, incredible partners within the industry who have helped to bring our wedding-design dreams to fruition, supportive family members and friends, and clients who have trusted us with their most special day- making it possible for us to do what we love. Our hearts swell with gratitude! We so adore this time of year!

We put together a little inspiration page of colors, decor elements, blooms, and the like that we’re crushing on right now. Grab yourself a piping hot cup of your beverage of choice and enjoy…

Wishing you a very happy holiday season of fully bellies + full hearts! XOXO, the As You Wish team

Color Crush: Ocean Blues

This week’s color crush has us dreaming of little umbrellas in our cocktails and white sand between our toes!  To create for ourselves a (virtual) break from this sweltering Texas heat, we’ve put together a little summer wedding inspiration… our muse: the Great Blue Sea.

In the same way that we can’t turn down a view that involves strikingly clear waters, we’re head over heels for the aqua and turquoise tones that compose an ocean blue wedding design scheme. A serene mix of blue in your ceremony and reception décor gives your guests the notion that they’ve come for a romantic weekend escape.

Be as bold as you’d like with bright blue jewel tones like cobalt and cerulean, or keep it breezy with soft, muted azure shades. There are various ways, significant and subtle, to incorporate ocean blues into your color palette. The possibilities are as limitless as the sea itself!

We’ve put together a paradise-inspired design page, so grab a little umbrella for your drink and take a look!

Color Crush: All White Everything

Our planners have found that wedding design inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere. Fashion and lifestyle trends are no exception! We love to take note of current clothing and accessory crazes as we’re designing each bride’s dream wedding.

Our latest obsession: the crisp and clean vibe of a fresh, white color palette. There’s something totally bold and fabulous about the white on white ensembles seen as fashion staples this summer. We love the idea of translating this look to all-white wedding details. The simplicity of a white color palette can create a heavenly backdrop for your celebration. Don’t be afraid of the understated beauty that comes with this non-color design scheme – it just might constitute the most eye-catching wedding décor of all!

We’ve put together fabulous inspiration pages filled with all things white and ethereal. Take a look and be inspired!

Real Wedding: Maten – Studenko Wedding

When it comes to creating an Inspiration Page for a new event, one of the first things we do is send the client a detailed Design Questionnaire so we can get to know their style. From this questionnaire, we can find out all kinds of helpful information–everything from their favorite colors and flowers, to where they like to shop and what kind of furniture and decor they have in their home. We often pull ideas from this to create an Inspiration Page for their event that is not only beautiful, but will also speak to their interests in some way or another!

When our bride Rachel submitted her questionnaire, we found out that she loved hot pink and bright colors, that she owned many colorful, abstract paintings that she liked to pair with old, oriental rugs, and that she was a huge fan of her collection of blue and white china. We took all the information and came up with this bright and cheery Inspiration Page that she fell in love with!

… and here is how we turned it into the wedding of her dreams!

Rachel and Scott’s ceremony and reception both took place at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel and Joseph Mark Photography was on-site to capture every detail!

Southern Fried Paper created all of the paper products–including these coordinating programs and the stunning pink invitations.

The girls’ dresses and bouquets truly brought the colors to life!

Rachel loves butterflies and so to help incorporate those into her day, we brought in Absolute to set up this gorgeous display!

During cocktail hour, guests found kissing bells with this sweet poem on the back of each of their escort cards.

The Crescent created this simple, yet beautiful piece of cake artwork using the colors of the day in a fabulous ombre design!

Once in the ballroom, guests were met with this view:

All the incredible floral and decor (including those gorgeous bouquets and the ceremony chuppah and decor) was done by none other than Branching Out–isn’t it breath-taking?!

We brought in linen and chargers from BBJ and those crisp, white chairs from Ducky Bob’s to complete the look.

And then the party began!

… and they lived happily ever after.

Make sure you check out this highlight video of their day from John Christopher Photographs that we shared on our blog back in December!

And remember to check our Facebook page later this week to see the rest of the pictures!

Pantone Color of the Year 2014: Radiant Orchid

If you’ve been keeping up with current wedding news, you may have already heard the buzz about 2014′s Pantone Color of the Year… but just in case you haven’t, we wanted to take the opportunity to fill you in!

Say hello to the fabulous “Radiant Orchid”–the color that is sure to be popping up everywhere this year!

Here at As you wish… we are inspired by tons of incredible color palettes and aim to incorporate fresh ideas and new colors in each design we create while keeping the focus on what’s most important to our brides! In looking back through our 2013 wedding season, it’s clear to see that we’re ahead of the game already as we’ve been creating gorgeous “Radiant Orchid” weddings all year long–check out highlights from a few of our weddings below!

Just in case that isn’t enough to get you excited about the possibilities, we pulled together a few more inspirational images to keep things fresh and fabulous for 2014!

You don’t have to deck out your entire wedding in purple to get the point across–try focusing on crisp neutrals like whites, grays, and silvers and then let the flowers do the talking:

If extravagant floral is just not your thing, you can still incorporate some “Radiant Orchid” into your day–from candy buffets and favors to shoes and chandeliers, there are plenty of ways to make your wedding pop with purple!

We can’t wait to put our ideas into some fresh wedding designs for this year and are looking forward to a “radiant” 2014!

Real Event: Pierce – Bennett Party

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, plenty of festive parties are sure to be popping up on your calendar! With that in mind, we thought it was the perfect time to share a few of our favorite pictures from this fun Engagement Party/Reception that we planned for a sweet couple just this summer. You may not know it, but not only do we love planning weddings–we also love to throw a fun party!

Jade and Will live in Australia but planned a trip to Dallas to celebrate with family before their upcoming Australian wedding. We helped them narrow down what they were wanting and we even created a custom Inspiration Page for them just like the ones we use for weddings! How adorable is this design?!

The ballroom at the NYLO Las Colinas made for the perfect venue and photographer Kym Skiles with f8studio was onsite to capture all the details!

What’s a party without picture-perfect finger foods?!…

… and an array of yellow and mint-colored treats!

This couple was just the sweetest!

We’ll have more pictures from their fabulous party over on our Facebook page soon, so be sure to check them out!

And keep us in mind the next time you’re throwing a party–we would love to help!

Real Wedding: Dowd – Freeman Wedding

Erin and Chris came to us this past spring with a little over 6 weeks to go until their wedding date… and only their venue booked! As busy business owners, time had been slipping away and they needed just the right team to help pinpoint their vision and bring everything together to create their dream day. We were so excited to jump on board and present them with this inspiration page to capture the casual, “mixed-metals” vibe that they had in mind.

With the Dallas Arboretum providing the perfect backdrop for their day, Andrew with Slaton Weddings was able to capture some fabulous pictures!

Erin even had a custom pair of Converse for the occasion!

The bridesmaids modeled different style dresses and mismatched jewels that all coordinated with the day’s design!

We knew Erin’s custom-made brooch bouquet would be stunning, but it was even more perfect than we could have imagined!

Leah McGaughy made sure the gentlemen weren’t left out on the floral front and created these fabulous boutonnieres!

The guys also wore matching gray Converse–aren’t they cute?!

Erin and Chris shared a private “first look” at the bottom of the spiral staircase in the Alex Camp House before the ceremony began.

… and then on to the beautiful ceremony with that incredible waterfall-filled backdrop!

This bridal party was such a blast to work with!

Check out these fun reception details–gray table linens, gold runners and napkins, mismatched apothecary jar terrariums, and fabulous gold chivari chairs!

We love this fun shot of the succulent-accented cake taken through the window!

The party started as soon as Chris and Erin were introduced!

To cap off the night, Blue Diamond Limousines sent this amazing vintage car for the exit!

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the rest of the pictures coming soon!

Real Wedding: Piper – Saylor Wedding

Katie and Adam were looking for the perfect “burlap and blue” design to complement their outdoor wedding at the Dallas Arboretum and our team was able to pull together this fabulous inspiration page that the couple was so excited about!

… however, when Katie’s bridesmaids came across a fun coral-colored bridesmaid dress that they knew they had to have, she came back to us and asked if there was any way we could incorporate the new color into the design she already loved. Part of being a wedding planner is the ability to adjust and make changes as needed and so we were ready and willing to accommodate our sweet bride with a design we all fell in love with just a little bit more!

Here are the pictures that Kristal with Creative Shotz captured from their day so you can see how it all came together!

Adam and his friends had a little inside joke involving these crazy horse heads and lots of laughs… Keep an eye out in the reception pictures for their second surprising appearance!

This stunning garden path was the perfect location for Katie and Adam’s romantic “First Look!”

And on to the ceremony…

We LOVE a unique guest book idea and these thumbprint balloons on a customized print were so fun!

The team at Branching Out not only provided all of the fabulous floral for the day, but they also created this incredible one-of-a-kind altar piece with woven branches and floral for the ceremony!

And now for some fun reception details…

… like this adorable chalkboard seating chart…

… the mix of beautiful centerpieces…

… and a stunning, 5-tier cake from Dallas Affaires Cake Co.!

Brian with Simply Music provided the awesome music and lighting for the evening and this group definitely brought the party!

Those hilarious horse heads even made an appearance out on the dance floor!

Even more pictures from Katie and Adam’s big day will be up on our Facebook page soon so be sure to check it out!

Real Wedding: Bailey – Heidel Wedding

Angela came to As you wish… looking for help to bring her spring wedding to life and we knew just the right color combo to make that happen! Our team worked hard to create this fun and fresh inspiration page and then brought it to life for her wedding day with the help of some great vendors!

Mark and Angela had both their ceremony and reception at Marie Gabrielle and used the stunning outdoor space to complement their fresh coral and green color palette.

Brooks Whittington of Brooks Weddings was on site all day to capture each and every moment–take a look below to see some of our favorite shots from the day!

The ceremony decor was soft and romantic and encompassed the vision for the wedding perfectly.

Check out these beautiful altar arrangements from The Garden Gate!

We just HAD to include this close-up shot of Angela’s gorgeous brooch bouquet–the color and details matched the decor perfectly!

With cocktail hour in full swing, guests were treated to the signature drink of the evening: a mouth-watering Strawberry Vanilla Mojito with adorable striped green straws!

The dinner tables inside were set with beautiful centerpieces incorporating a pop of coral and green napkins to tie in the colors from outside.

The couple shared their first dance under cafe lights strung above the dance floor and then led their guests inside for dinner, cake-cutting and toasts.

Romano’s Bakery created both a fabulous bride’s cake and fun groom’s cake for Mark and Angela.

…and then it was back outside for more dancing and partying the night away under the stars!

The newlyweds left with a bang–their exit was complete with a band escort, sparklers, and a vintage car!
