Photo booths

What wedding trends are more and more brides and grooms having fun with? Photo booths! Having a photo booth at your reception is a fun way to get guests to interact with each other and is a great activity that guests can do during the cocktail hour, while the bride and groom take their wedding photos!

Photo booths can also be an expensive piece at the reception and in your budget. So why not create your own custom photo booth? With just a creative back drop and a camera man, all your guests can join in on the fun!

Here are just a few different ideas that are adorable, fun and beautiful to include in your wedding celebration.

Hang a large panel of fabric on the wall. This idea is cheap, fast and beautiful! You can match the backdrop with your wedding colors to make the whole design of your wedding seamless.
Hang a sheet, quilt or large piece of fabric on a clothesline outside for an outdoor wedding.

And don’t forget to add some fun with props and accessories! Provide guests with an empty picture frame, umbrella, top hat, mustache or lips on a stick and/or a small chalkboard for silly messages.

We’d love to help you incorporate these fun ideas into your own wedding! Contact As you wish… for more advice and wedding planning!

Holiday Engagement Tips

It’s November, and that can only mean one thing:the holidays are right around the corner. Are you planning a wedding while the holidays are coming in the blink of an eye? What to do? As you wish… is here to help! Here are a few tips to help you maintain your sanity:

What traditions will you two celebrate privately? Make some plans that are just about you. Don’t be afraid to set some boundaries. You are starting your own family, establish traditions that blend both of your pasts with your desires for the future. You might feel like it’s hard to schedule one-on-one time right now.Make a point to plan time to look at Christmas lights, exchange stockings, make cookies together. Anything where you’re not focused on wedding to-do lists!

What traditions will you observe with your families? Figure out what’s important to both families and be flexible so you can be sure and spend quality time with both, if possible. Don’t be afraid to keep your boundaries, as a couple you should work as a team! This is a great time to do research for your wedding. Talk to friends and family members. Listen to stories about their wedding day and ask for marriage advice. You’d be surprised to discover things you never knew! Do some research about the fun things they did at their weddings. What song did they dance to? What holiday traditions did they start when they were first married?

What events will you be attending with friends? Is there an annual party, dinner, or cookie exchange? Do you volunteer for community service together? Do you attend concerts? What would you like to do? If something’s not planned, be the one to start something new!

A few other tips:

Think about asking your friends and family members for a holiday ornament. It’s fun to see what people choose for you, and it’s a great way to start your collection!

Ignore your to-do lists for a while, and enjoy some incredible time with your loved ones. Spend time together as a couple, balanced with family and friend time. Now is the time to establish great holiday traditions, but more importantly, a healthy, strong marriage!

The holidays can be a tough time to nail down vendors, because many of them are doing holiday work. No one can give you the attention you deserve for your wedding if they’re arranging holiday parties at the same time, and vendors might not be as attentive as other times of the year. Luck Be a Lady

Every little girl dreams about her wedding day, and one day that dream becomes reality. At times, what bride doesn’t feel like they were hit by a little bit of good luck in the love department?! Even Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat wrote a song about it … “lucky I’m in love with my best friend…”

We wanted to feature a few of our favorite wedding ideas that incorporate the “lucky” theme! Below, we love this couple’s “luck-inspired” engagement shoot!

Another way to include the theme of “lucky in love” is to give away lottery scratch-offs as your wedding favor. {We think this is an awesome an inexpensive idea! It lets you share a little luck with your guests!}

This bride had special envelopes made for the lottery tickets, with a jar of pennies for guests to grab as they scratched away.

Who can forget the old wives’ tale that you should put a penny in your shoe for good luck on your wedding day?
