Sethi Proposal

Vipin Sethi pulled out all the stops to ask his one true love, Ria Sharma, to marry him. We at As You Wish Events loved helping Vipin plan his intricately detailed and over-the-top romantic proposal!

The surprise-filled night started as Ria was picked up at her home by a white limo, of Premier Transportation. As she arrived at The Stoneleigh Hotel, she was greeted with a glass of champagne and a note to continue to the Penthouse level. Upon arrival, she received another note, explaining to follow the arrows to the penthouse terrace. All the while, Vipin is awaiting his bride-to-be, surrounded by beautiful flowers and candles, adorned by Bella Flora, and by beautiful music, performed by the talented musicians of Serenata Strings, and the perfect lighting for the scene by Beyond Lighting. As the song, “I Knew I Loved You” played, hidden cameras captured the moment Vipin proposed to Ria. Sarah Kate, of Sarah Kate Photography, shot the sweet moments that followed as the couple celebrated.

The surprises did not end there. Unknown to Ria, Vipin’s and Ria’s families were anxiously waiting to congratulate the newly engaged couple. In the salon room, the family shared a meal sitting at the most romantic table ever…a heart shaped table! Posh Couture Rentals and Big D Rentals expertly set the mood for an unforgettable night. Congratulations to AYW couple Ria and Vipin! We are so excited for what’s next…

Real Wedding: A Spring Sangeet

One of the most exciting thrills the As You Wish team experiences in being involved in our couples’ wedding celebrations is the opportunity to bring unique and diversified family backgrounds, religious traditions, and personality-specific details to life. This As You Wish exclusive real event features an extravagant wedding weekend that lead planner, Rachel Burt, craftily designed; the weekend’s festivities paid homage to the bride’s Hindu heritage and the groom’s Catholic background. The Sangeet, a party specific to Indian tradition, took place prior to the couple’s wedding ceremonies and reception. The evening was full of singing, dancing, laughing and mingling among wedding guests! Today, we’re sharing photos from this festive evening, beautifully captured by Edmonson Photography. Be sure to check back next week, too, as we’ll be sharing the details and images from the rest of this As You Wish couple’s fabulous wedding weekend. (Trust us, you won’t want to miss it!)

Real Wedding: Teitell – Frankfurt

We loved working with As You Wish bride, Heather, for a whole slew of reasons. Mostly, because her laugh is infectious… but also because she was quick to entrust lead planner, Rachel Burt, with the reigns in terms of her wedding design- in hopes that together, they’d bring some kind of magic to the Crescent Hotel. The result was stunning!

The design scheme was inspired by royalty, think Kate Middleton-esque. Heather had chosen her wedding gown on this basis and had high hopes that the event would breathe the same air of aristocracy. Crisp, white floral elements and bright greenery helped to bring the outside in to the reception space. The Jewish ceremony was complete with an awe-inducing, freeform white floral chuppah. Bella flora also created boxwood hedge letters behind the bar, and secret garden-like chair back “Mr & Mrs” signage. Accent color, navy blue, and bow details brought a preppy feel to the table scape. Boxes of truffles, adorned with little navy bows, graced each place setting as the guest’s favors; and each dinner napkin was folded and shaped like a bow. The event was a black-tie, beautiful backdrop for Heather and Grants nuptials, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Take a look at this preview of their wedding photos, shot by Mary Beth Tyson, and stay tuned for the full album, going live on our Facebook page later this week.

Real Wedding: Hall – Jelliffe

We love a good mother-daughter duo- and this week’s real wedding features a timeless celebration, complete with prettiness of all sorts- brought to you by lead planner, Rachel Burt, and the lovely ladies of the Hall family. Katherine Hall and her groom were married at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, where Mother of the Bride, Dawn, has been the Church Coordinator for many years. Tradition runs deep in the Hall family, and much of the couple’s wedding day reflected that. Katherine and Dawn came to Rachel in hopes of a wedding that beautifully captured Katherine’s classic, girly taste. Neat floral centerpieces of ombre pink shades, hanging floral kissing balls over the reception entryway and dance floor, and creative draping along the reception’s walls created tasteful, feminine glamour. Take a look at this sweet Dallas couple’s wedded bliss, captured by Joshua Aull, and check our Facebook page later this week for their full wedding album!

Real Wedding: Turner – Cole

This week’s exclusive real wedding brings you a couple who’s love transcends all boundaries of distance, time and.. international citizenship. Chris, British, and Caroline, Texan, met in Ukraine while serving with the Peace Corps. This sweet bride and groom patiently endured months of waiting and Visa-related paperwork, while anxiously dreaming of a wedding celebration where they would finally celebrate their future lives together with their families and friends. While Chris was across the pond, Caroline enlisted the help of As You Wish lead planner, Rachel, to design an urban-meets-bohemian-inspired event that would take place as soon as a very important piece of the puzzle arrived state-side: her groom.

Fast forward several months, and take a look at the photos that showcase their international wedding affair- bohemian, jewel-tone florals decked their urban venue with artsy flair. Their chosen venue breeds modern industrialism and creativity without much help, as Life in Deep Ellum is an art gallery and church combined. Posh Floral delivered exquisitely crafted floral arrangements that added a touch of nature with their protruding tree branches. And, artist, Abel Garcia, live painted during the cocktail hour, supplying guests with a unique form of entertainment and the couple with a valuable memento to take home with them. Special thanks to Nine Photography for the beautifully captured images!

Chris and Caroline’s full photo album will go live on our Facebook page later this week!

Real Wedding: McCoy – Doolittle

We have been so eager to show off this jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, right-out-of-a-dream wedding. Our As You Wish bride, Rose, and her fabulous mother, Dr. Rosemary McCoy, came to us with big dreams of throwing a once-in-a-lifetime, fun party that would blow their guests away… and send them running to the dance floor. The design scheme showcased the Pantone color of the year for 2014, radiant orchid, in all of it’s glory. Stunning floral centerpieces dripping in crystals, a custom silver dance floor, and bright, bold, sparkly table linens of varying textures- all courtesy of Jackson Durham, decked this Dallas Country Club reception in glamour.

Rose and her groom, John, were both studying to become Doctors during the planning process. Thus, having their guests transcribe a “Prescription for a Happy Marriage” on customized Rx pads in place of a traditional guest book was a precious, personal touch.

We loved this unique floor plan utilizing full-of-flair lounge furniture and chic ghost chairs for a swanky alternative to ordinary reception seating.

Talk about a party! This take on the Groom’s dessert of choice was above and beyond. A one-of-a-kind whiskey bar featuring local whiskey and the Groom’s personal favorites, complete with suggested gourmet chocolate pairings, was a huge hit!

Guests said farewell to the Bride and Groom and they made off in an adorable, vintage getaway car. It was truly an unforgettable affair! Be sure to pay a visit to our Facebook page later this week to view all of the photos of this spectacular wedding by Edmonson Photography.

Real Wedding: Thomas – Biglin

This week’s Real Wedding introduces you to a couple who shares a big love- for each other, and… the New York sports scene. Each element of Sarah and Jeff’s Crescent Hotel celebration mimicked their fun-loving personalities and their appreciation of all things athletics. Sarah came to us hoping to incorporate both modern and natural aspects of design for her wedding. In true As You Wish fashion, our lead planner, Rachel Burt, took Sarah’s vision and ran with it, crafting an event that was aesthetically sophisticated and eccentric. Take a look at how F8 Studio beautifully captured this sweet Fall day…

Sarah’s thoughtful, and tear-jerking, gift to her Dad on the big day- a softball signed by the blushing bride for his keepsake.

The Rosewood Crescent’s outdoor garden ceremony space is lovely in it of itself, so when Branching Out installed a stunning, elegance-meets-organic floral archway, the couple had an absolutely idyllic setting to exchange vows. And for an extra dose of sweetness- the Groom insisted on walking down the aisle hand in hand with his nephews: the dapper ring bearers (you can imagine the “awwwwwe’s…”).

Some of our favorite, sports-themed details: the peanut & cracker jack bar, adorned with family photos of the bride and groom and their loved ones attending sports games together as couples; the baseball bat in lieu of a traditional sign-in book- guests scrawled their names on the engraved wooden bat, leaving the Bride and Groom with a frame-worthy treasure to take home with them; and the pennant flag send-off- friends and family waved purple flags, complete with Sarah and Jeff’s names and wedding date, cheering the couple on to a happily-ever-after. Oh, and the caramel apple favors (YUM)… this wedding was a “Win”, from start to finish! Real Event: Margot Perot Center 30th Anniversary

We’ve shared before about how much we love being able to work on other events in addition to our regular line-up of fabulous weddings, and we’re back again to share another “Real Event” post!

We had the privilege of planning the 30th Anniversary celebration for the Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and we couldn’t have been more honored!

Take a look below at some of the fabulous images The Mamones Photography captured from the event.

We weren’t going to let the rain stop this marvelous event!  The guests arrived & were greeted by valet at the tent’s entrance.  The Perot family as well as the distinguished doctors & nurses involved with this wonderful organization started the night off with cocktails.

A string quartet played while guests mingled & learned the history of the Margot Perot’s vision through a timeline – from dream to conception.  Like many great ideas, the center’s timeline started with a drawing on a napkin!  We decided what better way to honor such a vision than with personalized cocktail napkins with the original sketch.

Each member of the Perot family was given special gifts at their place setting & the lobby art work dedicated to Margot Perot was unveiled.  Margot Perot was presented a piece of this installation to take with her and the women of her family are pictured in front of the beautiful work below.

We’ll be sharing even more pictures from this event on our Facebook page later this week so be sure to check back!

Real Event: Pierce – Bennett Party

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, plenty of festive parties are sure to be popping up on your calendar! With that in mind, we thought it was the perfect time to share a few of our favorite pictures from this fun Engagement Party/Reception that we planned for a sweet couple just this summer. You may not know it, but not only do we love planning weddings–we also love to throw a fun party!

Jade and Will live in Australia but planned a trip to Dallas to celebrate with family before their upcoming Australian wedding. We helped them narrow down what they were wanting and we even created a custom Inspiration Page for them just like the ones we use for weddings! How adorable is this design?!

The ballroom at the NYLO Las Colinas made for the perfect venue and photographer Kym Skiles with f8studio was onsite to capture all the details!

What’s a party without picture-perfect finger foods?!…

… and an array of yellow and mint-colored treats!

This couple was just the sweetest!

We’ll have more pictures from their fabulous party over on our Facebook page soon, so be sure to check them out!

And keep us in mind the next time you’re throwing a party–we would love to help!
